Despacito was a track from the year 2017 that was released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It became the top streamed track worldwide within just six months. Soon, other artists collaborated with Reggaeton stars like Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma with Medellin 2019 In 2020, a few Reggaeton performers were expressing displeasure about the trend of the genre towards the mainstream. But a newer generation such as Rauw Alejandro was determined to maintain the development. The musician incorporated electronic dance music and others into his music.
